Well the add-on delivers: adds players, makes it more interesting with the factions and upgrades the ambassador to the inquisitor. Most groups I've played with consider it an upgrade that makes sense. I give it 4-stars because of the price, its the same price as the base game which doesn't really make sense.Weiterlesen

Schwache Erweiterung eines grandiosen Spiels

Zuerst einmal, hier wird die englische Version angeboten, die deutsche habe ich bisher nicht gefunden. Etwas schade, denn Coup selbst besitze ich auf Deutsch. Das Grundspiel auf Deutsch: http://amzn.to/28PuqhL und auf englisch: http://amzn.to/28TKsdE Die Erweiterung war für uns eher eine Enttäschung. Im Prinzip wird nur eingeführt, dass man nun als Teams gegeneinander spielen kann und es werden mehr von den "alten" Karten mitgeliefert, damit man mit mehr Leuten als zuvor spielen kann. Ein alter Charakter wird zudem um eine eher langweilige Funktion erweitert. Das wars schon ... Wären hier noch die Münzen beigelegt wäre es selbst schon ein vollwertiges Spiel, denn das ist das einzige was gegenüber dem Grundspiel fehlt, aber man möchte ja zwei mal Geld verdienen. :) Die beigelegten Erklärkarten empfanden wir deutlich unübersichtlicher als in der Grundversion gestaltet. Spielt man nur zu 2. oder 3. macht die Erweiterung von vornerein garkeinen Sinn. Auch mit mehreren Leuten empfanden fühlt sich das Spiel kaum anders an. Im gesamten Entäuscht die Erweiterung sehr und kostet dafür auch noch genauso viel wie das Grundspiel. Leider Schwach, wir hatten uns sehr darauf gefreut.Weiterlesen

LOVE the expansion for Coup

I recently purchased Coup for my wife which was a huge hit with us and our friends. After we became overly familiar with the original we invested in the expansion. The expansion adds a new layer to gameplay which I believe the original needed. This layer is the introduction of alliances. In the beginning of each game the beginning player must chose between the reformists or the loyalists. The player next to the starting player must be the opposite alliance as the beginning player and so on for each other player so that half the players are reformists and the other half are loyalists. This is marked by each player having a card that is marked "loyalist" on one side and "reformist" on the other. The twist with this setup is that most cards that are played do not effect players who are the same alliance as you are. In addition, instead of taking an action with a card you may change your alliance by paying one coin, or change another player's alliance by paying two coins. This adds a layer of depth because you can avoid being couped by changing your alliance at the right time or cause another player to be at odds with winning by changing their alliance in larger groups of players. The other aspect of the expansion I enjoyed was the ability to allow more people to play (up to 10 players). This is done by determining the number of players and adding one of each card to the deck appropriate for the number of people playing. I found that the inquisitor card which replaces the ambassador was not as enjoyable as the ambassador in that it completely took away a great card and added some rules for a new card that could be confusing to new players. I understand that the point of the new card was to inject some type of sabotage to other players, but I really enjoyed the ambassador much more than the inquisitor. It is possible to ignore the inquisitor and keep the ambassador but that would have to be agreed upon by everyone playing. Overall I really enjoy this expansion with my favorite part being the alliance aspect. I think that this expansion adds more depth to the original without being overly confusing (with the exception of the inquisitor). If you love coup and want something to make it more fresh and exciting I wouldn't hesitate to pick up this expansion.Weiterlesen

This is the game

This game is a blast to play with friends. If you are looking for the complete game, you will have to buy the first Coup. This is an update pack adding play styles and characters. The only thing this addition pack is missing to make the game complete is coins for the play but we use rolled change that way we didn't ha r to buy the first one. Again if you can come up with your own coins or currency, then this I a complete and updated version of CoupWeiterlesen
