Cribbage ist Klasse, aber nicht mit...

...diesem Set! Die zugeklappte Holzschatulle ist verzogen und wackelt auf dem Tisch, die Beschriftung ist (im Gegensatz zum Produktbild) blass, teilweise verwischt und damit schwer zu erkennen. Kartenspiel billigste Art, die scharf geschnittenen dünnen Karten lassen sich nicht zum Mischen ineinander stecken. Die Stifte (pegs) sind okay. Dafür ein Stern. Weiterlesen

30 years later I need something easy to see....

The old cribbage board my parents bought me in my teens in the 70s travelled across country in Greyhound bus well played with strangers, spent time in bars, good party times with friends, had plastic pegs broken off in holes and beer spilled blurred the lines. It connected my (at the time future) husband and I together in the 80s since even though he was French Catholic and I was English Protestant, this game was a social opportunity and we can play it in either language...or our personal family language, "Franglais". Finally, in our 50s after 26 years together, my husband and I got tired of forcing broken plastic pegs into plugged holes. We tried the boards with the 3 colours, but our eyes are older and the holes are hard to see. We searched online for a board from the original company like my old one, unsuccessfully. This is better. We can't lose cards or pegs, can see the holes and continue to have lots of laughs and beers...but are more careful not to spill although games with our grandkids in the future may prove different. Since the pegs are sturdy, all holes are clear and ready for when I skunk my love of my life! We do love our new cribbage board! Weiterlesen

AWESOME CRIBBAGE BOARD!!!!!

First let me say this board is a true work of art. The laser engraved eagle on the top of the board is truely amazing. Its even cooler if your school's mascot is an eagle (like mine). The holes are well drilled. No extra shavings in the bottom, evenly spaced out. This is a 1/2 length cribbage board (61 points), but its not that hard to just go a second time around if you want to play a classic 121 point game. The best part I'd have to say is the storage inside the board for your pegs and cards (which by the way aren't Bicycle playing cards, instead they're by Royal; The pegs are metal which is real nice instead of plastic like most sets have). The only two minor complaints I have is that I found one small chip in the wood inside the board (nothing bad enough I would rate this a 4 star) and that you have to pretty much pry open the board to get it open, like with a crobar (not literally, but you get what I mean), but atleast it stays shut and doesn't just fly open when you're carrying it around. It would be nice if the board came with some kind of cloth or nylon sleeve to put the board in. Yea I know its only $20, but It's such a nice board i wouldn't want it to get chipped or scratched. But the bubble wrap and card board box it came in will do. Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this board. UPDATE: I called Wood Expressions (maker of the cribbage board) and told them about it not opening correctly. They told me that they would send a replacement board not including pegs or cards. So I was expecting to get it about a week later, assuming that they wouldn't be in a hurry to send it out, but i got the board 3 after I called! I didn't even have to send the other board back! Now that is what I call great customer service. When I opened the box and took out the board, I tried opening it and it opened with ease. BUT, I was dissapointed when I took a look at the top of the board. First the finish wasn't as good as the original one I bought from amazon. Also the holes were not well cleaned out, I could see little slivers sticking out inside. Also I noticed two cracks between the holes. It was very evident that one of the cracks been glued with wood glue. The board was still playable, but certainly not A+ quality. In the end, I just put a little bit of wax on the little nail thing that is inside of the board that lets you open and close the board (not the hinge) on the original board and that seemed to make it easier to open and close Atleast I have a backup board now. Convenient, solid, and well made.

Cribbage was invented by one of my however-many-great grandfathers in 1670, and my family has been playing it ever since. My paternal grandmother actually held a 29 about a week after they were married, and the calendar strongly suggests my father was conceived later that evening. This was a welcome-to-the-family gift for my fiancée, and though not fancy it's really nice, and so convenient that it immediately became our "travel" board. Very well designed. Weiterlesen

Love the Design

My parents played cribbage together when I was a child. I have fond memories of playing this game with my father. I wanted to teach it to my adult daughter. This is a great version with a self-contained, sturdy cribbage board that houses not only the pegs, but the cards.
