Good for a cheap gift

This box is fine. It works well for its intended purpose, although there are many better options out there for a little more money. CRAFTSMANSHIP This box is cheaply made. The wood is soft; it will scratch with a fingernail. The puzzle locks slide easily, maybe too easily. They can easily be jostled out of place when rotating the box, making the solve more frustrating than difficult. The sides have no jointing, they were probably just glued together with standard wood glue. The wood looks ok, but it has no design or intricacy whatsoever. SIZE The interior is deceivingly small; the walls are around a half-inch thick all-told. As such, you can't fit very much inside. I fit in two small metal puzzles (around 1 inch each). They fit, but I wouldn't be able to add a third. PUZZLE The puzzle is extremely easy; it should take a beginner 5-10 minutes to solve. If you are getting this for an experienced or intermediate puzzler, consider investing in something more complex (and thus more expensive). At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. It's really simple, and really fun.

The box has a very easy to decipher puzzle, but it is loads of fun. In addition, the size of the box allows for placement of a small object comfortably, without worry of squeezing it in to the point of no return. It was pleasantly accepted in the form of gift wrapping, and it is admired on a shelf on a daily basis. I would say that this box is definitely worth purchasing to make any gift (that fits!) far more interesting. Weiterlesen

Looks amazing, and will definitely do the job!

I bought this as step one in a scavenger hunt for my fiance when his ring came in. The hunt is tomorrow, so let's hope it goes well. I think it will take him about 15 minutes to solve, but he is amazing at puzzles, and I just need enough time to get my cute little butt out of there before his adventure begins! The box actually looks better than the pictures in my opinion and everything slides very easily and looks well fitted. Would highly suggest. Weiterlesen

Nicely made but more of a combination lock than a puzzle lock.

This is nicely made but not my favorite puzzle box. It's not something people can reason out. It's basically a combination lock and people have to use trial and error. Not a bad puzzle box but I prefer ones that have that wow factor where you are amazed at how simple they work even though it took you a while to figure it out. Weiterlesen
