My gold standard would be Liberty Puzzles for their quality, consistency, art, and amazing puzzle cuts and whimsies…and made in America. I love their puzzles, but my budget doesn’t allow me to buy 1 a week, and that’s about how many wooden puzzles I have worked since covid rocked the world. One thing to note now that I am a couple of years into the “great cheap imported wooden puzzle journey”: most are cheap because they are junk…bad “art”, bad wood/printing/cutting quality, don’t interlock, etc. I am returning to Liberty Puzzles, and the other fine wooden puzzle brands. Because they hold (or increase their value). I have sold my good puzzles after working them for about what I paid. I would rather work a fine puzzle that is a delight to the senses, savor it a while and then sell it, than to continue wasting time and money on junkie imports. The import puzzles have little value for resale. That said, It’s funny that THIS great imported puzzle was the last one I ordered, and it turned out to be great…not Liberty great, but great for the $60 price. And it has renewed hope that there ARE good, budget friendly imported wood puzzles on the horizon. I LOVE the peacock art. She is so cute. There is a good, clear poster inside that shows both the peacock image and the line art for the puzzle cuts. I would rate this is a difficulty level of 2 out of 5. It was very relaxing to work, and I made myself go slow and savor the puzzle. The wood was cut perfect, and there are some VERY intricate cuts in the puzzle. LOTS of relevant, well executed whimsies, and my favorite—compound whimsies (multiple piece peacocks)! The printing quality is good. Edges are clean and crisp. There are several pieces that you will need to be VERY careful placing and removing so you don’t break the tiny edges. They are worth the work and part of what made this puzzle great. The pieces interlock so it is a true puzzle, not colored wood pieces hanging out near each other, but disconnected (as appears to be norm on imported puzzles). Oh, and there are actual edge pieces, bordered with white which will help newbies a lot. I am no videographer, but have a video showing close ups of whimsies and how nice the puzzle is. I hope this helps you spend your puzzle funds wisely. HIGHLY recommend this brand, and hope they put out more puzzles of same quality!Weiterlesen
