Easy setup/cleanup and great fun!

I have had a blast with Carcassonne! It is easy to pick up but has surprising depth when you get into more of the content. The tiles are very eye catching as your table becomes a backdrop of cities, rivers, and roads. I picked up the inns and cathedrals expansion shortly after I bought the base game here and love what that adds too! Weiterlesen

Fun, fast game

This was easy to learn and fun to play. The half hour game play means we often can play more than one round. If you’re looking for a complex competitive game like Settlers of Catan, this probably isn’t what you’re looking for. But it’s fantastic if you want a game that works well for all ages. We like that there are several variations included. My only complaint is that the rules had some minor discrepancies and were missing a few details. Great tile laying game

I got this to play with my wife who is just getting into board gaming, and she loved it! The basic premise is to recreate the french town of Carcassonne, while laying down meeples to score points as you go along. The rules are relatively simple but the gameplay contains a ton a strategy. It's better with 3-4 players but it's perfectly enjoyable even with two players. The only downside (if you consider this a downside) is that you need a fair amount of open space to play this game, since there's no telling how much the city will expand and in what direction.
