Halbe Kraft voraus!

Eigentlich kommt das Spiel thematisch daher und die Schiffsillustrationen sind sehr schön, doch irgendwie fehlt das, was das Spiel verspricht: Ozeane, Reederei-Stimmung und Konkurrenz. Schon dass man auf Punkte statt auf Geld spielt, passt nicht. Außerdem haben die (schwer erkennbaren) Farben der Schiffe gehörige Bedeutung, dümpeln aber komplett unthematisch herum. Das Spiel selber läuft rund und bietet auch genug zu tun, bleibt aber etwas schematisch und in seiner Entwicklung indifferent. Die Spielregel ist nicht optimal, aber nachvollziehbar. Das Gesamtpaket riecht nach viel Potential, aber noch nicht perfekt komponiert, auch nicht in der deutlich besseren Präsidenten-Variante. Weiterlesen

Brilliant game mechanics and beautiful art; mid-level strategy game.

Great strategy game with sophisticated interlocking game mechanics. Beautiful artwork and historical theme set this game apart. The only issue I had with the game is the colors of the cards can be difficult to differentiate in regular indoor light.
