This is a kids game. The theme and ideas used in this game are refreshingly new, but the mechanics in the gameplay are not intuitive and in an effort to make the game multilingual-friendly, everything has been replaced with icons. Unfortunately, the only guide you have to all the icons is in the instruction book, which means that it gets passed around often and there are pauses in play. This results in having to read through the instructions everytime it hits the table. A reference page (with words!) would have been a useful addition, as would a brief outline of how a turn works (players often forget to use their card!). The gameplay itself is light, all the tiles representing the "loot" from the hunt are dumped out and players take turns taking either a fraction (or all) of the unclaimed loot, or all of a player's loot (less one which goes into the unclaimed pile). The loot claiming ends when there is no loot left in the centre and all players have loot. I say this game has to be light with players that are not too competitive, because if each person on their turn calculated the value of each action (in terms of points), then the game would stretch on as each person makes mental calculations on the value of each pile of loot. The "?" loot adds uncertainty to the game, which means that players can't know the exact value of the loot they've chosen (unless they use a card to peek at the loot) and in our experience, sped up the game compared to having perfect information. If you pick this up for less than $20 (my price $17.04 CAD), it's a decent price, but there are a lot of great games you might still otherwise consider. I believe Queen Games has been trying to clear out this game for quite a while now including tossing it into their Kickstarter campaigns as a freebie stretch reward. Weiterlesen

"i split, you choose" game, not too memorable, other games have done it better

an ok game. It's got the "i split, you choose" type of mechanic but with a caveman theme. Nothing to memorable about this game. I've seen it go on sale on Amazon during the year so if you can get it for under $15, it might be a nice distraction Weiterlesen
