Simple rules, complex plays. Deep strategy at its finest.

All players are constantly engaged during play, and there's always interesting choices to make. The game has just the right amount of luck and leaves the rest to player cunning and planning skills. It plays fast (90 minutes max) and the rulebook is short and well written. The pieces themselves have a good solid feel to them, yet they are light enough to handle easily. Great Game

This game has rather simple rules but deep tactics and strategies. It will take me numerous plays to see how my mind will wrap around all the possibilities. And I mean that in a very FUN way. Love it.Weiterlesen

Great DOAM game, production mostly good

From a game mechanic point of view this is a fine way to spend time with friends and family. The instructions are clear, the board is constantly different and it plays well for 3 or 4. A few revolts, the odd war and the game can be as cut-throat or passive as you want it to be. The board, box, token and bag quality are good. The one aspect I didn't like is that Grail Games no longer ship this game with the minimalist tall wooden pagodas, but with cheap, hollow, primary coloured plastic ones that do not fit the ascetic of the game well. The models are poorly made. It put me off playing the game very much because the pieces rocked back and forth rather than sitting flat on the board. These should be the aspect of the game that drives game play - people should want to earn and place these in their states - instead, getting a pagoda is off-putting because they went el cheapo. For an award winning game at this price point I expect better.Weiterlesen
