Big hit at game night.
Took it out at our last game night, played for a couple of hours and everyone had fun. Weiterlesen

We love coup, and after playing One Night Werewolves with friends decided to try this out. I wasn't sure how it would go without an app to guide us, but we picked it up quickly and really enjoyed it. There is a different feel when the game is over so quickly but you get to play lots of rounds which makes it fun. For gaming reference, we love Coup, Citadels, Dominion, Catan, and Munchkin. Good, but for kids it won't hold their attention long
The kids quickly tired of this compared to something like the One Night Werewolves game. I think this would be a much more fun and intense game for adults, but for kids under say 16 it doesn't hold their attention long enough. Weiterlesen

One Night Revolution delivers intense game play of Ultimate Werewolf with fewer players and no moderator, lacks exciting visuals
A quick synopsis of game play in One Night Revolution: Every player is given an ID which tells them if they are a Rebel (good) or Informant (bad). They are also given a Specialist Role which grants each player a unique action they must perform during the Night Phase, which is the first of two phases. Everyone closes their eyes, the bad guys both secretly open their eyes and reveal themselves to each other, and then in clockwise order every single player performs their special action while everyone else has their eyes closed. Most of the time these actions involve viewing or switching your or another player's ID, thus changing a player's ID from good to bad, potentially. After everyone has had a turn secretly do their Specialist action, everyone opens their eyes and then votes for who to kill. The twist is that no one may look at their ID during the Day except the person who started the round. Thus, a great debate over who did what ensues as everyone scrambles to simultaneously gather information and convince a majority not to kill them. Assumptions should never be made hastily since there's a very high chance that you yourself may not be who you started as. If a good guy is killed the bad guys win, and vice versa. At first, One Night Revolution is a bit jarring if you've ever played the Resistance or its sister Avalon. It has a familiar theme consistent with Coup and Resistance, but does not actually follow either game's mechanics. You start off as either bad or good, and by the end of the game no one will know (without interrogating your fellow players) whose team anyone is really on. This departs from the Resistance, which this game most closely resembles, in that you have no loyalty to your team. Once the Day phase happens, no one can look at their ID cards, which necessitates the job of questioning your mates to figure out who switched or looked at what during the Night, keeping in mind that giving them too much information could end up costing you the game. So it's really a game of personal survival rather than teamwork. In comparison to One Night Werewolf, Revolution has both pros and cons. It benefits from the Specialist role mechanic which eliminates the need for a moderator completely. All of the game pieces are substantially sized and high quality. And lastly, and perhaps the most striking feature for me, it delivers the same type of game with a minimum of three players. I find the player number to be a huge limiter with most social deduction games and I welcome the ability to play with a small group. On the other hand, if you regularly have a large group of people, One Night Werewolf has a more appealing and exciting theme. Also, there is an app that can be used in place of the moderator. So my final conclusion is that One Night Revolution is more versatile than Werewolf, but lacks the visually engaging artwork. Nonetheless it is a truly fascinating game that can be played within 10 minutes or so and is mentally and socially engaging. Weiterlesen

Less Stessful than Resistance
Such a fun addition the Resistance universe. It is much easier since you don't have to keep with your lies for several "missions." It is a new Identity every round. Much less stressful Weiterlesen
