Good out of the box, Great if you add to it yourself
I love the theme of this game--although the game mechanics can work with any theme, the dark dystopian cyberpunk setting really makes the game stand out to me. The artwork is beautiful, even if the cards are quite small so you can't see more of the art. I'm concerned about the replayability of the first floor, as most of the time players don't make it to the 2nd level so you'll be seeing the first floor rooms over and over again. I've created some 2nd floor escape cards as my own variant which helped encourage players to attempt the 2nd story, and that definitely made the game more interesting. All the player characters are the same, and that seemed like a missed opportunity to me since this game would work beautifully with asymmetrical character abilities. There are some neat character powers on boardgamegeek that really make this game pop, as otherwise it seems to fall a little short of the mark. Even though my gaming group loved the theme it only got a lukewarm reception at the table. The game is a bit simple even if you get some laughs as you push your luck and try to screw the other players over. They were definitely more interested once I created some character ability and 2nd floor escape cards, but we actually enjoyed co-op variants more than the competitive one. At the same time, I do love playing the game and I would recommend it for people who like the dark cyberpunk theme and want 1-hour games that can play 5-6 players well. En lire plus

A well-planned game with strategy, fun, and consequences
BACKGROUND: I have only played one full game (2-player where each player controls two Operatives) and it was a lot of fun! From beginning to end, the players were really involved with the whole board, the strategy of the gameplay, and the cool items from the item cards. The rules cover a LOT of ground, so they're a little long to get through -- I say make the effort because, when read carefully, they will clear up questions. The ground that the rules DON'T cover is handled by the cards themselves, whether it's an item, NPC, or action card. There was not 1 question about a rule that came up that was not covered by a card or the rules book. The game we played took about an hour, which would have been shorter if we were more familiar with the game. This was our first time out and it was fun-but-slow (compared to it's intended speed). GAMEPLAY Pros: Good explanations through rules or card descriptions that don't leave room for interpretation. Turns are balanced to prevent any one player from having the advantage throughout the entire game. Players can effect each other and really throw a wrench in an otherwise well-planned round. The presence of the Alarm Counter & Proximity Counter add a sense of urgency to the game that allows for several different strategies to win the game. Cons: It's not as straight-forward as many board games, but that's actually one of the reasons I like it (twists and turns vs. roll and move). The pieces could be swallowed by children. I haven't seen a whole map yet. That's not really a con, but I really want to see them in-play! LOGISTICS Pros: Heavy-stock cardboard for the player tokens. Durable stock for the cards (though a child could destroy one easily). All the pieces fit into the box without issue. Nothing that is constructed (i.e., the security wheel or the player tokens) is at-risk of breaking or wearing to the point of unusability. Cons: There are a LOT of tokens for Infiltration and many of them need to remain face-down during play. That's a bit of setup and there's no good way to grab from a bag (because there's no texture on either side) so they have to be laid out. The biggest con is the number of tokens and the setup time to play the game. It's not bad; it's definitely more complicated that a standard board game (on par with Catan). En lire plus

A Fantastic and Fast Game
This is a really great little game. It is basically a board-game where the players compete to obtain resources (data-files) by moving around the board and performing actions. The aim is to accrue as much data as possible and escape the facility before a countdown timer expires. The rules are very simple but make for an excellent competative game that is constantly exciting and forces you to make meaningful decisions every turn. The 'board' is constructed from large cards and so each game presents a new play-area. There are far more cards than are needed for the board meaning that you will very rarely have the same game twice. Of particular note is the way that the game plays with actions. Rather than players taking turns everyone chooses a single action and then reveals them at the same time. This means that even large games with five or six players are quick and exciting. This really is a fantastic game and I recommend it to anyone. The only point I would note is that seeing as the game is make up of cards it really does need some card protectors if you are planning on using it often. These will add a little to the cover price but are worth it if you want the game to remain in good condition. En lire plus

Migliorabile

Kaufempfehlung! En lire plus
