I don't know how much I can say about so simple a product, but I'm certainly glad to have it. Here's why. The heavyweight, textured material gives the impression of quality and longevity. I don't expect any toy for children to be truly indestructible, but I do like that this product seems so sturdy. Except for the size, it reminds me very much of the balls we used to play with during recess when I was young, and those lasted for years of heavy use in a public school. This particular ball is smaller than those were, but that works well for me. The little one I keep an eye on is a toddler, so a full-size ball might be an awkward size or weight for them to carry around and play with comfortably. These slighter dimensions are therefore a good fit. We had a couple of soft, small, baby-friendly balls, but I wanted something hardier which would stand up to outdoor use, so that we could have one to toss, chase, or kick around in the yard, and this is perfect for that. An an added bonus, it's nice that the company offers different decorative themes, so you can pick one (or more) corresponding to your child's interests. I don't consider this important, really, since it doesn't affect functionality one way or the other, given that a solid colored ball would work just as well. But it's nice to have the option to personalize a bit, or to be able to establish visually that everyone has their own ball and this one is yours, and that one is theirs. Maybe it's a small detail, but I also appreciate that the ball arrives inflated. Sure, I have a bike pump, but this ball comes ready to play with, right out of the box, which is what the little one I was watching wanted. They had no patience or desire to sit around, waiting while I dug out a pump and set to work. Also, if this had been intended as a gift, an inflated ball is much more presentable and attractive, which a flat, creased, empty skin would not be. Haven't found any downsides yet, so I would recommend this playground ball, as long as you understand that it's not a full-size one. I would think it should be suitable for most elementary school kids, but for pre-teens it would probably be too small.Weiterlesen
