Great puzzle

My family consists of 2 adults and 3 children...aged 12 and 9 (twins). We are avid puzzlers (if that's a word). We like to always have a puzzle going. We tend to look for 1000+ piece puzzles as anything smaller is completed so fast, it's pointless. I bought this one because I thought it would be a real challenge based on the reviews. I was a little hesitant due to reviews about this one and/or the dinosaur version but figured there's always a percentage of customers that will complain about anything and everything so I hit the submit button. Regarding quality, this puzzle is middle-of-the-road but it's not junk. The pieces have a small degree of snap to them as they fit together but not as much as other brands with heftier pieces. Each piece is different enough in color and detail that you don't have an issue with multiple pieces fitting in multiple spots. Graphic is precise enough that we found it fairly easy to locate the general area a piece goes...with a few that surprised us. While sone pieces seem to fall apart easily, other pieces do stick a little when pulling apart and that's where quality is less than some other puzzles we've completed...top layer/image will start to lift if not careful. But my 9 year olds were able to separate pieces without layer lifting so this isn't like the cheapo puzzles where even my husband and I struggle to prevent misplaced pieces from falling apart when trying to separate. We've had other puzzles that due to the image and colors or details were more difficult to put together than this one. Of note,, puzzle does not fit on standard puzzle board so we had to complete on table.. All in all, this was a fun puzzle. Didn't take too long to finish but long enough to hold our attention. Already ordered the dinosaur version. It appears to be a little more monochromatic and (we're hoping!) a little more challenging. As for the reviewer that left a negative review and claimed the cat destroyed the puzzle by jumping on it (and that such destruction spared him any additional trauma of completing puzzle), I think perhaps he should just stick with 300 piece puzzles going forward. Our cat is annoying and continually jumps on table and puzzle when we're not around. We see him on the cameras. He knows he's not allowed on the tables but...cats. Our puzzle held up fine despite the table exploits of Lello. If it had dropped and some pieces had come apart, I imagibe it would have been easy enough to fit sections back together.
