Great Replayability

I like this game a lot. A recent reprint itself. The original pretty much unobtainable. When this came to Amazon I was excited to try it. The game is quite simple, the mechanics are easy, the art is cool, and the theme is well... jewelry. The idea of the game to to purchase gems and characters during your turn. These gems are to be sold at auction, the characters to assist you in various ways. In three nearly random locations within the game there is a sale. Here you try to auction your gems at the best price for points. However the other players are doing the same thing but only one of you can sell each type of gem, and some of the characters or abilities can make some gems worthless. Be clever, be curious, and be cautious and you should prevail.Weiterlesen

Great Card Game-But Beware! It can be MEAN!

Fun card game using a clever 'set collection' mechanism. In Queens Necklace, players are competing to create the best jewelry for the French court by collecting cards with different types of gems and jewelry types (necklace, ear rings, etc). A clever 'market/rarity' system mixes up the vales of the jewelry you create, and having to play your creations face down and then reveal them simultaneously makes for great guessing and tension. Other cards give players special powers! However, the game can be VERY MEAN, as other cards allow you to mess with other players! You can steal cards from each other! Other cards allow you to sink the value of other players jewelry creations! All great fun (for the right crowd), but can turn some players off! The new version is a VAST improvement over the old, classic Days Of Wonder version from the early 2000's. Only thing I wish they'd kept from the original version is the actual (jewelry) Queens' Necklace.Weiterlesen

Shipping or Seller?

Bought this at 40% off no damage claims no ding and dent claims. YOU CAN SEE LISTED AS NEW IN 3rd photo. First copy came, crushed badly and missing pieces see pictures. Replacement copy came, torn and corners dented. So either two bad shipping incidents back to back, or seller selling dinged/damaged copies. DON’T SETTLE for poor service or worse yet, fraud.Weiterlesen
