Great game to play. Be patient with the rules, as they can be hard to follow.

The game is actually quite fun to play. Once we got a grasp on the rules, I was able to play this with my 8-year-old son. It did take us some time to actually understand the rules, however. The instruction book starts you out with some tutorial scenarios, which kind of just throws you in the game, and tries to explain the rules along the way (and out of order!). There's lots of pictures in the instructions, but there's too much "going on" in the images, and it takes a minute to get it. After playing through the tutorial level first, I feel it may have been easier if the book had just given us the rules first, and then given us tutorials to introduce each mechanic of the game slowly (instead of trying to teach us the rules while playing like you'd see in a modern video game). I disagree with the recommended age of 13+, as it was playable for an 8-year-old (who actually beat me on our first game by trapping me between walls that I couldn't get out of). 10+ is probably more accurate for recommended age (as long as there's an adult to decipher the rules initially!). I like how compact the box is, and I LOVE the little divider that they provide to keep the two decks of cards separated in the box. Overall, this tiny box delivers a very big experience!
