Mantic resin is a hit again.

Model has a high skill requirement

The Steel Behemoth is a Large model cast in resin and takes more effort to prepare for painting than your typical model. There are no instructions, so it is necessary to keep the box art for reference. To assemble this model you will need. Left in direct sunlight for a day to fully cure Washed before gluing and assembly Any warped pieces dipped into boiling water and pressed against a flat surface to regain shape. Several parts of the model parts came broken, so I assume mantic is sending these out fully cured which is why they are brittle. Several parts were badly warped (crew Compartment and back skirt). It is necessary dry fit these two pieces before priming/painting or assembly. There was almost no flashing, but some of the resin channels were very large and in visible parts of the model. An opportunity was missed by not making the model's legs posable. But the Crew compartment is textured everywhere and player have the ability to easily put in alternate models. The model casting was excellent, too good actually. As the 3d printing layer lines of the master used to make the mold could be seen. It being a steel war machine, these don't really hurt the model at all. Making it look like it was made of rolled steel plate. Only one thing...

This is super fun. Only one issue is that the rear shield does not fit on the back. Like the top center of the rear armor will attach but the top sides do not bend enough to connect. It is very noticeable. I even tried buying 'green stuff' to fill in the gaps (because thats what I saw people do on Youtube). However, I am not that smart/skilled.... so yeah mine does not have rear armor. It still looks cool without rear armor. I thought about buying a second one and using both rear armors as side armor..... either way this is a long way to say its cool but not perfect Weiterlesen
